It's Over.....Well pretty near over.....

I took advantage of an opportunity to ride along in an SH-60 Sea Hawk (there's two parked on the port side of the flight deck in the 2nd picture)helicopter on the 3rd of July. For a few hours during flight ops I watched the fixed wing aircraft launch and recover onboard the JCS from a different viewpoint than normal.
Pre-flight: "I got this."......... The war machine...Just call me "Rambo"
Had to go make sure this ship knew she wasn't below the radar....

The Fourth of July was an uneventful day underway as it was last year, but I got an ensign flown from the yardarm (for my memoirs). Today (the 8th) we left the war zone. The torch has been passed, and the strike group is heading for home!

How long were you in the air? That would have been fun. I "max'd" the Stennis pic looking for my sleeping berth, I hope it is on the top deck or possibly the hanger deck. Dad

You are so cool. I'm so proud you joined the navy...you get to see the world and experience so much that civilians can't even imagine.
By the way, I love, love the thoughtful gift you sent. The beads look fabulous around my neck. I've had several request for this particular necklace...thanks to you!! Again, you are so cool. Love you!!! Steph
